Dock Building

Dock Building

Point View Marina marine construction division is a full service marine construction company in the Salt Pond/ Pt. Judith area.

Experience

We have been building our own floating docks for years, and they have withstood the test of time in a commercial marina environment year round for over 20 years, from 10’ by 40’ main docks to 4’ by 20’ finger piers.

Longevity

Our standard docks last because we build them better. All marine grade pressure treated box frame construction with inside and outside galvanized corner brackets, and through bolted angle brackets anywhere a stringer or support connects to the frame.

Flotation

We only use permafloat floatation pods that are heavy wall thickness (nominal .150) one piece rotational molded drum foam filled (1.0 – 1.5 lbs. per cf) virgin grade polyethylene material UV inhibitors, molded in mounting slots, heavy duty mounting flanges, 15 year warranty that meets corps of engineers regulation #36 CFR Part 327, design meets or exceeds all absorption tests and meets or
exceeds all falling dart tests.

Customization

Once the frames are built we can accommodate almost any specific decking, (pressure treated, trex, fiberon, IPE Mahogany, etc.) that the owner wants, along with cleats, internal or external pile hoops, rubrail, docking wheels, ladders, etc.

Pile driving and removal

We have a state of the art sonic vibratory hammer that can pull or drive pilings form 6”-14” butt diameter and up to 40’ long with over 40,000 lbs. of force. Our barge and hammer rig is compact so we can work in shallow water and tight areas, along with upland work, as our hammer is mobile on an excavator and can be crawled on and off the barge onsite. Along with installing floating docks, we can also build or repair fixed piers.

Repairs and storage

We can on a limited basis repair your old floating docks, a quick inspection of the old floats will determine the ability to do so. We also offer a winter storage program where we can disconnect your floats and store them on land over the winter and then reinstall them in the Spring.
